About Alaska salmon season scoreboard, 2026

This is the season scoreboard: how far Alaska's commercial salmon harvest has come against the preseason forecast, area by area. The harvest is the cumulative common-property and cost-recovery catch from ADF&G's Blue Sheet, updated through the season in thousands of fish. The forecast is ADF&G's April "Run Forecasts and Harvest Projections". The percent of forecast climbs as each fishery opens and peaks, so early in the season low percentages are normal, not weak runs. Sport, subsistence and personal-use harvests are not included. In-season figures are preliminary and subject to revision.

The percent of forecast is the cumulative Blue Sheet harvest as a share of the full-season preseason forecast, measured commercial-comparable where ADF&G's projection mixes user groups. It is a share of the season's projection, not a good-or-bad call: a big number is income for a fisherman and supply for a buyer.

Scope note: ADF&G's statewide sockeye projection (49.7 million fish) and all-species projection (125.5 million fish) fold in about 5.60 million Upper Cook Inlet sockeye that ADF&G reports as available to all user groups, with no commercial-only figure. To measure the commercial harvest like for like, the percent of forecast here divides by The Run's derived commercial-comparable subtotal (44.1 million fish sockeye, 119.9 million fish all species), not the raw ADF&G total. The full ADF&G forecast, unadjusted, is on the forecast page. ADF&G's own statewide roll-up still adds Kodiak from the same Blue Sheet row this site holds back, so the statewide figures here understate the season by that shortfall.
